Grow old along with me!
The best is yet to be.

Today’s seniors are active, healthy, and vibrant. Maintaining this good health requires a specialized field of medicine. As we age, our medical needs change. Diseases and symptoms present differently in individuals over age 65 than they do in a younger person. St. Joseph Hospital developed a place that caters to the unique medical, emotional and mental health needs of the aging population – The Roger Dionne Senior Center.

Physician, Roger Dionne, conceptualized a place where seniors could go and access healthcare services and programs easily. With the support of Administration, fellow physicians, and staff, that concept became reality. Patients of The Roger Dionne Senior Center enjoy the advantage of having many levels and types of care, including primary care, specialty care and social services at one outpatient location.

Our staff of geriatric specialists: physicians, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and clinical staff specialize in the comprehensive assessment and treatment of older adults. Our primary goal is to keep older people functional and independent as long as possible.

Our board certified physicians act as primary care providers or as consultants to other physicians. They are responsible for:

  • Seeing patients in the office

  • Overseeing the care provided by the advanced registered nurse practitioners

  • Provide care in the nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Working closely with the physicians, our advanced registered nurse practitioners:

  • Provide advanced nursing care

  • Perform physical examinations

  • Discuss medical changes and conditions

  • Provide diet, exercise, and other health education to patients in the nursing homes and the assisted living facilities

The Roger Dionne Senior Center also offers social services to provide counseling and therapy -- for the individual, family, or group. In addition, social workers:

  • Provide information about available community services that an older adult may need and how to access those services

  • Facilitates support groups for those caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia

  • Provide one-on-one caregiver consultations for customized packets containing information, articles, resources and support services for your specific situation

Great healthcare begins with great teamwork. Our providers at The Roger Dionne Senior Center work in concert with other physicians and specialists to provide the most comprehensive care to our patients.

The Roger Dionne Senior Center is the collaborative culmination of careful planning and development. It is a place where healthcare is delivered with compassion, respect and dignity.
